Where does the data come from?
We only use public and reliable sources:
- Google Maps (Google Business Profile) — customer ratings and review counts, price level, opening hours and other profile details;
- Finnish Trade Register (PRH/YTJ) — business ID and basic company details ( tietopalvelu.ytj.fi );
- Company websites and public information — descriptions, services and contact details;
- OpenStreetMap — map and location data;
- Other public sources — complementary data when reliable and verifiable.
We never buy reviews and never use data a company has not published publicly.
How is the data processed?
We collect and combine data in a largely automated way. AI and machine learning are used to merge, normalise and enrich data, and to draft company descriptions from public sources.
The Suomi.Best score (0–100) itself, however, is always calculated with the same transparent formula — AI does not decide the order. Every score is built from the criteria below and from public data.
How is the Suomi.Best score (0–100) calculated?
Every company is scored 0–100 using the same criteria:
- Customer ratings — the company's rating (0–5);
- Review volume — more reviews mean a more reliable average;
- Service offering — how complete the company's services are in its field;
- Data completeness — core details such as address, phone, website and opening hours;
- Verification — whether the company is verified in the trade register (business ID);
- Price transparency — whether the company publishes prices or booking info;
- Online booking — whether the service can be booked online;
- Freshness — how up to date the company's details are.
A higher score means a better position. The criteria and the calculation are the same for every company in every city.
Can companies influence the ranking?
No. A company cannot pay for a better position or buy points. Paid and advertised listings are always labelled separately and never affect the score. We also do not change details or reviews at a company's request — if you find an error, tell us and we will correct the data after verification.
For companies: how to improve your position fairly
The best way to improve your position is to develop what the score is built on — honestly and consistently:
- provide high-quality service and invest in customer satisfaction;
- ask happy customers to leave a review on Google Maps;
- respond to negative reviews constructively and resolve the issues;
- keep your Google Business Profile complete and up to date (opening hours, services, photos);
- invest in a clear, current website and online booking;
- keep your company details current in other public sources too.
We cannot promise a specific position — it always depends on the compared companies' data. Want to correct your company's details or ask more? Contact us as a company.
